CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) is a fatty acid found in meat and dairy products with multiple health benefits. It is the most common Omega-6 fatty acid. There are 28 types of CLA.
CLA cannot be produced by the human body, but can only be obtained through diet and nutritional supplements. The main sources of CLA include milk, cheese, butter, yogurt, sunflower oil, and meats such as lamb, veal, turkey, and chicken. In dairy and meat, the concentration of CLA varies greatly, depending on the diet of the animals. For example, foods from grass-fed cows have several times more CLA than those from grain-fed cows.
